Happy Birthday to Someone Special

I want to wish a "Special Lady" a very Happy Birthday and many, many more to come.  She is not only a great friend, but a very caring, loving, and awesome person.  Here is the card I made for her and then continue to the end of my blog, please.

Now, I would like to tell everyone just how "Awesome" she is.  Three years ago I posted and entry on a blog and won a prize.  I noticed when I went to her blog she had a site "Link Up for Pink", so I decided to check it out and it was a blog that was just starting and I decided to join in to support those fighting the battle of Breast Cancer.

I just want to say I am so happy our paths have crossed and I have a very wonderful friend.

Here's her story of how Link Up for Pink got it's start.
It started with an idea of hosting a blog hop, but instead I realized it would be best to host a linking party; an opportunity for all to share their pink projects, share their stories, build a strong community and most importantly bring awareness to breast cancer. When I brought this idea to a friend, she immediately responded, “Let’s do it”.
As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but it should not start or end in October, we should always be aware. Remember to do your self-breast exams, send reminder cards to your friends to get their mammograms, and accompany a friend to their appointment. Somehow, some way we have known someone who has battled this terrible disease; some have fought a good fight, but unfortunately, some lost the battle. We lost my brother-in-law Kevin, Dulce’s daddy to cancer. My husband lost his grandmother to breast cancer and his Mom, my mother-in-law, Pat is in remission!

Link Up for Pink has a Relay for Life page. I am proud to announce we are one of the three virtual Relay for Life groups and the first ever blog event to be recognized by the American Cancer Society. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please click on the badge below.

As we take this journey together, let us take the time to celebrate life, live for today and remember the lives of the women and men no longer with us.

Thank you.

And now, Link Up for Pink has grown and we now have a design team, we have monthly challenges, and of course the huge blog hop in October.

If you look at my blog you will see many cards posted for Link Up for Pink.  I am honored to be a part of the design team and have met other great friends on the team.

Yolie, have a wonderful birthday!!!!
Hugs and kisses,
Joanie &
Kelly (my daughter and newest team member)!!

Is it your birthday today???

If so, here's wishing you a very Happy Birthday and many, many more to come from me and my friends at Link Up for Pink.  I have posted a special card for your special day, I hope you enjoy and it brings a big smile to your face.

A little info on the scrapping goodies I used.  LOL  I used pattern paper from Hobby Lobby as well as the cardstock.  The stamp I used of the door is  was from Crafter's Companion, Adorables, Summer Collection.  The stamp used for the girl is from Fresh Brewed Designs and her name is Surprise.  I think she went really great with the stamped door image.  The ribbon and stones are from my stash.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up and the stamped images were colored with my Copic Markers.  That should take care of all the products used.  Any questions, just ask and I'll be glad to get back with you.  ; )

LOOK INT0 . . . . .

.... the crystal ball and see that a Cure is on the way soon.  I pray and hope that a cure will be found in the near future.  This is my little fortune teller, that I thought was just adorable, that I have used for my Link Up for Pink creation.  I hope you like her and she makes you smile.  She's pretty sassy looking, don't you think?  ;)

I used a digi image from Sassy Studio Designs, and her name is Fortune Teller.  I used a very old paper pack I came across while cleaning my scrap room, well, sort of cleaning it...  lol  It is SEI, Aunt Gert's Garden. I used a new Spellbinder's die Fleur de Lis, also a Spellbinder's die around the image which was the Scalloped Oval and of course she was colored with my Copic Markers.  Her crystal ball has been coated with Diamond Glaze and it makes it 3D and very shiny, but very hard to get the look in the picture.

Now for some good news!!!!

Challenge 11 is coming up soon, March 21st and I hope you make a creation and get it posted to help support those fighting the battle of Breast Cancer and by doing so you are eligible to win a fabby prize of 3 digi stamps plus a bonus prize from Fresh Brewed Designs.  Now that is one awesome prize from a fantastic sponsor.

Well, that's it for today,
until next time,
Take care and God Bless
Hugs,
Joanie

Just a little bit of inspiration going on here.....

I thought I would post a couple of cards I made yesterday.  My daughter, Kelly, and I make cards to sell at our church, Messiah Church, and all the proceeds are donated.  So with Easter right around the corner I thought I'd do a couple to add to our card rack.

So here is the first one:  Easter Blessings

I used a new Spellbinders die cut, Fleur De Lis Squares, they are awesome and I used patterned paper from Gina K., Parisian Garden, a very nice paper pack in 6x6 size.  The ribbon and flowers are all from my stash except for the butterfly that I purchased at Michael's just yesterday, they are by Heidi Swapp, I thought they was just so beautiful.

My next card is: Happy Easter
This one was made for the little folks and I thought it was really cute with the little chicks.

The paper I used is CTMH, Dotty for You, and was just so bright and cheerful I thought it just looked like an Easter card had to be made with it.  ; )

Well, I time to get going on some other creations, so thanks so much for stopping by and hope you come back soon.

Until next time,
Take care and God Bless.

It's Raining Love

Wow, what a way to start a day....to just be showered with love.  Well, that's what I have here for you today on Link Up for Pink for Challenge #10 and you still have time to get your creation in to win a fabby prize and to show your support for those undergoing treatment for breast cancer.  I feel so very blessed.  So here's my little cutie catching some of the love.

I think she is such a sweetie and the image is from Lacy Sunshine by artist Heather Valentin and her name is Emily Showers of Love.

For some reason I couldn't get a clear picture of the verse, so here is what it says and it is by M.S. Lowndes from www.HeavensInspiration.com
Just a word for you
To let you know
I’m thinking of you, today
I want to encourage you
In your walk,
To press on in God each day

I know it’s not easy
And the way can be hard,
But I will be there for you
And know that the Lord
Is with you each step
And His love will get you through.

The patterned paper I used was from a 6x6 paper pack from Authenitique, Seasons: Spring, very pretty pack.  The flowers and butterfly came from Michael's some time ago and was in my stash.  I colored my image with Copic Markers, which I love.

Well, that is all I have for today, but will be back soon with the announcement saying who the Winner is for Challenge #10.   If you haven't gotten your creation in you still have time!!!!  Hurry, Hurry!!

Until next time, take care and
God Bless.
Hugs,
Joanie
